Brian was an easy choice to be one of the Admins for our Central Florida Branch. He’s friendly and outgoing and he displayed the characteristics we seek for those in leadership positions with CWC. Honesty, integrity, genuine Character and a Focus on the Kids and Cause we are representing. Read more about Brian….
Hey all, Brian here born in The Bronx (the only county you address as The :P), my High school life spent in Queens and most recently a Tampa resident. Employed by Fedex for the last 10 years middle child with an older brother and younger sister. Moving to Tampa from NY in 2014 it was a big change in lifestyle I had nothing to do, nowhere to go, only “friends” were coworkers, and here one cant just walk outside and stroll along the boulevard filled with shops right around the corner from your house man you even have to drive if you need milk or bread. By some chance I saw an advertisement for Tampa Bay comicon and decided that at least it was something entertaining to do. I hadn’t been to a comicon in at least 17 years and back then the Cosplay wasn’t nearly as popular as it is now. I always loved comics but had stopped collecting many years ago, going to the con I was drawn back into that world and mostly thanks to the current movie trends the comic world has had a resurgence of sorts. I continued hitting up many Cons mostly collecting signatures from comic creators and celebrities and photos. In Sep 2016 I decided to attend dressed up for the first time and went as Ant-man (I’ve always enjoyed Halloween to dress up but would have never thought to do so outside of that day.) met quite a few friendly people and made some connections. Shortly after I was messaged by Rick (Starlord) and was asked if I wanted to attend a movie event in costume with a group that he was a member of, to raise funds for a charity. I accepted the invitation and that was the start of a new adventure.
Here are a few questions to help you to get to know Brian a little better:
Q: WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT CWC?
That it gives me the opportunity to do something that I was doing for recreational purposes but instead of just for fun, now I can help support a charity or bring Joy to others simply by doing something I already enjoyed but now with a greater goal in mind. That and the people that I have met through CWC.
Q: WHAT DO YOU LIKE LEAST?
My work schedule, not permitting me the time to devote myself more to our events
Q: HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN DOING THIS?
I am relatively new to cosplay in general only been at it for a year now (outside of Halloween costumes)
Q: IF YOU HADN’T BEEN BORN IN THIS CENTURY, WHEN AND WHERE WOULD YOU LIKE TO HAVE LIVED?
I think I would have enjoyed the early 1900s where Ladies wore dresses and Men wore suits, or the late 1800s because who doesnt want to dress like a cowboy?
Q: WHO ARE YOUR HEROES?
Would have to say my Mom, raised 3 Kids as a single mom have to respect that. (We think this is an AWESOME answer 🙂 )
Q: WHO DO YOU HAVE NO RESPECT FOR?
Villains general 😛
Q: WHAT IS YOUR JOB ?
I work as a courier for Federal Express
Q: HOW HARD DO YOU PUSH YOURSELF?
Depends on the situation I try not to but sometimes you’ll lose yourself in the moment and not realize till afterword that it was just too much.
Q: WHEN ARE YOU COMPLETELY SATISFIED WITH YOUR WORK?
Happy or proud but never satisfied
Q: WHAT’S THE MAGIC FORMULA FOR SUCCESS?
There is no magic, just work hard, have patience and most of all perseverance for even with hard work and patience success can often remain out of reach.
